Camping with a heater

This cold weather just came upon us in an instant. For the past few weeks, the temperatures have been in the high seventies to the low eighties, and for the past two days, the highs for the day have been in the fifties. The low temperatures at night are down in the thirties. We certainly are not used to this weather. Of course, this cold blast had to happen on the week that we decided to go camping. We weren’t going far away, but we were going to park our camper at a local RV resort. They have really nice amenities, like a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a place to launch your kayak or canoe. We had been planning this trip for awhile, and were expecting the weather to be warm enough to swim. Instead, we have this cold snap, so we are huddled around the campfire all day and night. At night, we have to run our portable heaters in the camper to stay warm, We also use extra blankets. To tell you the truth, we have been sleeping like babies every night. The little heater is just enough to keep the camper warm, not to mention that we are tired out from enjoying the cool fresh country air. It hasn’t quite turned out the way we expected, but we are still enjoying the time away from home. I just hope our furnace turned on at our house, otherwise our pipes might freeze. It happened to us a few years back and it was a mess. That would not make us happy campers.
